Nusantara, Cradle of Life

$359.00 SGD

Truntum, kawung, sekar and jagad. These heritage motifs designed together make the Nusantara special.

When combined, the truntum (love), kawung (community), sekar (flowers) and jagad (world), —  it represents a union — a union of people, nature and the planet. The intricateness of this piece highlights the work and patience of artisans in bringing this piece to life, with the having a different colour and motif in each area – like a cartographer carving spaces yet maintaining harmony within boundaries. Earthy colours symbolise the warmth hospitality of the Javanese who are mindful of the feelings of those around them. This is a piece worth keeping.
